Welcome to
Lakewood EMDR
Hi, I’m Ellie! I’m a licensed trauma therapist trained in EMDR therapy. I created Lakewood EMDR to provide evidence-based trauma therapy via telehealth across Ohio.
I specialize in treating complex trauma, which is generally prolonged interpersonal trauma that is inescapable in nature, often originating in childhood. Complex trauma can (but doesn’t have to) include childhood abuse, domestic violence, trauma related to queerness, and religious abuse.
Some of my clients have influential people in their life who are emotionally immature or self-centered, but others have experienced complex trauma without a clear “villain” in their story. Still others experienced painful rejection or neglect from someone who should’ve taken care of them.
Trauma is pervasive in our society, so if you’re worried that “my trauma isn’t bad enough,” please know it probably is – and that trauma therapy can be beneficial to anyone looking for mental health support.
To anyone reading this who has experienced abuse, or anything difficult – I see you, I hear you, and none of this is your fault. I’m here when you’re ready.

What is EMDR?
EMDR therapy is a transformational trauma therapy that allows clients to heal from trauma, let go of guilt and shame, and finally feel better. EMDR therapy has been researched extensively and shown to accomplish three main goals: to neutralize emotional reactions to traumatic memories, to deconstruct internalized negative beliefs, and to reduce overall mental health symptoms.
